The Strummer star nut & compression device is designed to securely hold the headset & stem on your carbon fork / steerer tube. Precision manufacturing allows the textured surface of the compression device to press evenly against the inner surface of the steerer tube.
Our compression device is quite long at 52 mm. This allows its textured surface to grip the inside of the carbon fork steerer tube more firmly. When installed correctly, you won't have to worry when riding over uneven surfaces.
As an added touch, we added rubber to the top of the bolt (the 'on top' pun is intentional) to prevent water from entering the headset and bearings, which could reduce performance over time.
