Guide to Hub & Wheelset Strummer Spare Parts

First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing the Strummer hub to power your bike. Our hubs are highly durable and will accompany you. For your convenience, we would like to offer a spare parts list to facilitate the purchasing and repair process of the product.   • Do not use threaded locking components/parts on any part of your hub.
  • The condition of the terrain while cycling & the frequency of cycling will determine how often cleaning, lubrication, and other maintenance are needed.

Further Notes:

  • 5.2*100 mm and 9*142 mm are the same size. 5.2 mm is the inner diameter of the end cap, while 9 mm is the outer diameter of the end cap that is mounted on the frame.
  • 5.2*135 mm and 10*135 mm are the same size. 5.2 mm is the inner diameter of the end cap, while 10 mm is the outer diameter of the end cap that is mounted on the frame.
  • 5.2*142 mm and 10*142 mm are the same size. 5.2 mm is the inner diameter of the end cap, while 10 mm is the outer diameter of the end cap that is mounted on the frame.

Changing the O.L.D. Size (Diameter & Width) of the Hub by Replacing the End Cap (Adapter)

By using the Strummer hub, you can change the size of the hub, so the hub you purchase can be installed on a bike with different frame & fork sizes. Below are some OLD (Over Lock Nut Dimension) sizes supported by our hub and adapter combination.

  • Front Hub: 12*100 mm → 9*100 mm : Use End Cap 9*100 mm for HR-360 ( ADT-00055BK )
  • Rear Hub: 12*142 mm → 10*135 mm : Use End Cap 10*135 mm for HR-360 ( ADT-00057BK )
  • Rear Hub: 12*142 mm → 10*142 mm : Use End Cap 10*142 mm for HR-360 ( ADT-00056BK )
  • Rear Hub: 12*142 mm (Original Spare Part, No Size Change) : Use End Cap 12*142 mm for HR-360 ( ADT-00064BK )

  • Front Hub 9*100 mm → 15*110 mm : Use End Cap 15*100 mm for HM-350/HM-380/HM-650 ( ADT-00049BK ), then also use 100 to 110 mm hub spacer ( ADT-00031BK /  ADT-00031RD / ADT-00031GL ), there may be a need for additional bolt spacers to adjust the position of the brake caliper 
  • Rear Hub 10*135 mm → 10*142 mm : Use  End Cap 10*142 mm for HM-280/HM-350/HM-380 ( ADT-00033BK )
  • Rear Hub 10*135 mm → 12*142 mm : Use End Cap 12*142 mm for HM-280/HM-350/HM-380 ( ADT-00045BK )
  • Rear Hub 10*135 mm → 12*148 mm : Use End Cap 12*142 mm for HM-280/HM-350/HM-380 ( ADT-00045BK ), then also use 142 to 148 mm hub spacer ( ADT-00032BK / ADT-00032RD / ADT-00032DL ),  there is a possibility of needing additional bolt spacers to adjust the position of the brake caliper

    The Hub Strummer can be modified to fit different cassette sprocket standards. This means our hubs can adapt to the groupset brand you are using. This makes it easier when you need to replace your bike that has a different groupset.

            Disc Brake Rotor Conversion

            The Strummer hub is available in several braking systems: rim brake, disc brake ISO 6 bolt, & disc brake centerlock. If you have a hub with a disc brake centerlock system, that hub can also accommodate a 6-bolt rotor by using the Strummer centerlock adapter ( ADT-00053BK ).

            Freehub Body Rubber Seals Replacement

            The rubber seal on the Strummer hub has reinforcement on the inside to provide extra strength and durability. The reinforcement helps maintain its shape for a longer period. However, the rubber will still experience quality decline & degradation over time. In general, it is advisable to check the seal while cleaning the hub. If the seal has deteriorated, replace the rubber seal to prevent dirt and water from entering, which can reduce the performance and longevity of the hub.

            Our rubber seals are easy to install, just pull the freehub body and rubber seal in opposite directions. If the rubber seal comes off during the installation of the freehub body, simply remove the rubber seal.

            For installation, ensure the rubber seal is aligned, then push by holding both sides of the rubber seal. Press in towards the freehub body in the correct direction.

            Upgrade & Replacement Sealed Bearing Hub Strummer

            We offer 3 different bearing variants for service, replacement, or upgrade. Our hubs are assembled with steel sealed bearings. You can also choose to use hybrid ceramic sealed bearings of the same size during service. Full ceramic bearings are only recommended for use on very smooth road surfaces (Example: Track, Velodrome).

            Please use the appropriate bearing size. Using/installing incorrect bearings can cause damage to the holes and affect the performance/durability of the hub/wheelset.
