Rear Hub (Freehub) Maintenance Notes
Grease lubricates the parts that rub against each other in the freehub mechanism of the rear hub, helping reduce friction and wear. It is not recommended to remove all the grease simply to obtain a louder sound. Without adequate lubrication, components may wear out or become damaged more quickly, shortening their service life. Use the type and amount of lubricant according to the product maintenance recommendations.
Rim and Wheelset Intended Use
The Hyper SLR D41.5 rim can be used for gravel. However, the complete Hyper SLR D41.5 HR-500 wheelset does not yet support gravel use and is recommended for road use. The intended use of the rim and the assembled wheelset must be distinguished.
9-Speed Cassette
Yes, the Hyper SLR HR-500 supports an HG 9-speed cassette. Use the appropriate spacer when installing the cassette on the HG Road freehub.
