Grease lubricates the parts that rub against each other in the rear hub's freehub mechanism, helping reduce friction and wear. Removing all the grease solely to obtain a louder sound is not recommended. Without adequate lubrication, components may wear out or become damaged more quickly, shortening their service life. Use the type and amount of lubricant specified in the product maintenance recommendations.
12-Speed and Strattos S7D 2025 Compatibility
Supports HG Road 12-speed cassettes and can be used on the Strattos S7D 2025 with a 12×100 mm front axle and 12×142 mm rear axle. If the bicycle's rotor uses 6-bolt mounting, use a suitable Centerlock adapter or replace the rotor. Check tire clearance before installation.
Element Montreal GRT 2026
The Aeroflow Xtreme HR-500 can be used for gravel within the product's usage limits. For installation on the Element Montreal GRT 2026, first check the bicycle's axle, cassette, and rotor standards. The wheelset comes with 12×100 mm front and 12×142 mm rear thru axles. If the bicycle uses QR 100/135 mm, suitable front adapters and rear end caps for the HR-500 are required and sold separately. Use a Centerlock rotor or a suitable adapter for a 6-bolt rotor. Do not assume it is ready to install before checking the bicycle's component standards.
Nipple Washer
The Aeroflow Xtreme D50 assembly with Pillar triple-butted spokes does not require nipple washers.
Shimano 105 CS-R7101
Yes, the Aeroflow Xtreme HR-500 is compatible with the Shimano 105 CS-R7101 11–34T cassette using an HG Road freehub. Also match the bicycle's axle and rotor standards when installing the wheelset.
Rim Tape for Inner Tubes
Yes, rim tape is still required when using inner tubes to protect the tube from the spoke holes. The Aeroflow Xtreme with the HR-500 hub comes with rim tape pre-installed when the wheelset is purchased, so there is no need to buy separate rim tape for the initial installation.
