Rear Hub (Freehub) Maintenance Notes
Grease lubricates the parts that rub against each other in the freehub mechanism of the rear hub, helping reduce friction and wear. Removing all the grease solely to obtain a louder sound is not recommended. Without adequate lubrication, components may wear out or become damaged more quickly, shortening their service life. Use the type and amount of lubricant recommended for product maintenance.
HR-360 4-Pawl Service
Removing the drive ring does not require a special tool: the ring can be pulled or carefully pried out. Replacement pawl retaining rings are sold separately; installation simply requires pressing them into place. For inspection or installation assistance, visit your nearest dealer.
Replacement Axle
A replacement axle for the 4-Pawl version of the HR-360 is not currently available. An axle from a ratchet hub must not be assumed to be compatible with the 4-Pawl version.
Polygon Path 3
The HR-360 4-Pawl Gen-1 can be installed on the Polygon Path 3 using the appropriate front QR 9×100 mm and rear QR 10×135 mm end caps for that hub generation. End caps are sold separately. Check the bicycle standard, rotor, and rim hole count before installation.
