* Material strength testing was conducted using Westcott Titanium scissors. The scissors were closed. The rim tape was placed on a thick padding. The scissors were pressed against the back surface of the bar tape (which contains glue) with approximately the same force. The test results showed that the Strummer rim tape deformed (but did not tear). Other brands of bar tapes tore without significant deformation. The test was repeated several times to obtain an average result. & reduce inconsistencies.
