Rear Hub (Freehub) Maintenance Note
Grease lubricates the moving parts in the freehub mechanism of the rear hub, helping to reduce friction and wear. Removing all the grease solely to obtain a louder sound is not recommended. Without adequate lubrication, components may wear out or become damaged more quickly, shortening their service life. Use the type and amount of lubricant recommended for product maintenance.
Sales Unit
HM-650 Boost Gen-1 is sold as a pair, consisting of the front and rear hubs; the rear hub is not sold separately.
XC28 27.5-Inch Spoke Length Calculation
Use the Strummer Spoke Calculator: Strummer Spoke Calculator. Select the 27.5-inch XC28 and HM-650 Boost hub, then adjust the rim ERD, hole count, and lacing pattern. Use the calculated result for each wheel and side; do not take spoke lengths from the non-Boost hub version.

HM-650 Boost Gen-1 is not available in a 24H/28H Centerlock option. To find another suitable model, use the Strummer Hub Selector.
