Kennardi's Experience Using the Strummer Aeroflow Xtreme D40 HR-700 Wheelset (Carbon Spoke)

Kennardi finally decided to move up a level by upgrading the wheelset to the Strummer Aeroflow Xtreme D40 HR-700. This wheelset is truly a complete package: Strummer carbon straightpull spokes, a Strummer HR-700 hub, and 40 mm-high rims that look formidable and aerodynamic. Once installed, the first impression was immediately solid!

Installing the tires? Much easier than with the previous wheelset. In addition, its stiffness is truly high, yet it still feels comfortable when paired with supple tires. A great combination of comfort and performance.

Photo 3: Coffee Ride

The drama began during the coffee ride. Because the rear derailleur settings were not yet optimal, the gearing got stuck at 50/17 and 34/17. But who would have thought that Kennardi would actually set a personal best on this route! And on climbs, this wheelset truly shone, providing a much more responsive feel than the previous wheelset.

Another advantage? The sound produced by Strummer's latest 54T star ratchet mechanism (Generation 2)! This sound makes Kennardi enjoy the ride even more. Wet routes during the rainy season and rough asphalt were also handled smoothly, without any problems. Even with its 40 mm rim height, this wheelset remained stable and was not overly affected by sidewinds.
